Breath of Life

Breath of Life

Jesus appears before the disciples. The beginning of the church is rising as the disciples are empowered by the risen Lord.

John 20:22
After his resurrection, Jesus appears to his disciples, who are gathered in a locked room, fearful and uncertain about their future. He greets them with, "Peace be with you," bringing peace and reassurance. Jesus then breathes on the disciples and says, "Receive the Holy Spirit," symbolizing the beginning of a new creation. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, the disciples transform from fearful followers into courageous leaders of the early church. This moment marks the birth of the church, equipping them to spread the good news of Jesus' resurrection and the promise of eternal life.
